Dr. Joy Browne is a radio psychologist. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and her syndicated show is the longest-running call-in therapy show in the United States. Her show is broadcast by the WOR Radio Network. In 2002, industry publication Talkers Magazine named her the 10th greatest radio talk show host of all time.

The format of her show is very similar to that of Dr. Laura, but unlike Laura Schlessinger, Browne has a reputation for being gentle, and not adversarial towards her callers. Browne does, however, take a no-nonsense approach to calls, trying to hone in on a problem without getting caught up in callers' long stories or digressions. Browne is also known for her "wait a year before dating" rule, which pertains to how long people who have lost a spouse due to death or divorce should wait before attempting to resume romantic relationships.

In addition to radio therapy, Browne also occasionally reviews movies and television shows.

She has also written numerous books on the subject of dating, including It’s A Jungle Out There Jane, Dating for Dummies, The Nine Fantasies That Will Ruin Your Life, Getting Unstuck, and Dating Disasters.
